The CoRaLi-DAR consortium is proud to announce that our project has successfully completed its first periodic review by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA). Following an online review meeting held on September 5, 2024, the Project Officer confirmed that the implementation of the project is satisfactory, with 100% of the deliverables and milestones for the period achieved on schedule.

Major Technical Achievements (M1–M18)

The reporting period was marked by significant technical progress across all work packages:

  • 100% Milestone Completion: The consortium successfully delivered all 11 planned deliverables and met both project milestones scheduled for this period.
  • LiDAR Development: We reached a major milestone with the first Electro-Photonic Integrated Circuit (EPIC) tape-out in month 11. This chip is currently being fabricated and will be used to test multiple innovative solutions for solid-state beam steering.
  • RADAR Innovation: The team has successfully submitted the first chip design for a dedicated frequency extension module.
  • Advanced Data Fusion: Our researchers at IMEC-NL have completed work on a simulator that provides high-fidelity requirements for the sensor sub-systems, paving the way for a more “intimate” hardware-level collaboration between RADAR and LiDAR.

Looking Forward

With the formal “Satisfactory” assessment from the EU, the CoRaLi-DAR project moves into its next phase of development with strong momentum. The coming months will focus on testing the first fabricated chips and preparing for the second development run, bringing us one step closer to our goal of a fully integrated, high-performance automotive sensor module.

We would like to thank our Project Officer and the external experts for their valuable feedback and recommendations, which will help us continue to refine our technical approach as we move toward the demonstration phase.
